Hild Imre

Hild Imre,

CEO of OUVC

Imre is involved in the Hungarian and CEE ecosystem from its inception, has been working with startups for more than 15 years.

Upon return from the USA – where he worked for Lehman Brothers CMBS as VP of Underwriting – first he founded two startups (both in the ‘life annuity for real estate’ space) and thus created a new industry segment.

After the credit crunch of 2008 he joined one of the first Jeremie funds as an entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR).  Within this, he founded one of the first Hungarian accelerators (iCatapult), which also received accredited accelerator certification.

In 2013, he led the first CEE startup tour to the US. In 2015, he created the CEEDTech consortium, a collaboration of 5 CEE accelerators (Startup Wiseguys, Spot, StartupYard and OpenRoad).

In 2016-18, he created a 5-module educational program focused on international market entry, completed by 220 companies.

In 2018-2019 he lead the effort of EIT to establish a soft landing ground in Tel-Aviv for EU accelerator professionals to learn about proper ecosystem building.

He has worked with nearly 700 startups as a mentor, investor and exit advisor.  His educational portfolio includes a course on Effective Angel Investing (WBA) and a course on Startup Mentoring (HSUP).

Imre is also member of Hungarian Venture Capital Association, Hungarian Business Angel Network and chairs the Startup Division of the Hungarian Innovation Federation.

Imre is now the CEO of OUVC, a university backed Euro 30M VC fund and Venture Studio hybrid, operating out of Budapest, investing among others in Medtech, DeepTech, Robotics and AI startups.
