Director of Business Development Life Sciences, Utrecht Science Park
Hans Hofstraat is Director Business Development at the Foundation Utrecht Science Park (USP) and at the Strategic Theme Life Sciences, a partnership of University and University Medical Center Utrecht and the other academic institutes at the USP. He is also Entrepreneur-in-Residence in The Institute of Cancer Research in London, Advisor of the Healthcare Transformation Academy and several other initiatives in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Health, and member of the Advisory Board of the Dutch Top Sector Life Sciences & Health. He also is active as an independent innovation consultant. A major focus of Hans is to support successful start-up and scale-up of innovations based on deep clinical insights and strong scientific research.
Prior, Hans was Vice President and Innovation Program Manager within the Philips CTO Office, working with partners across the globe on innovations in clinical domains such as Oncology and Neurology, and towards universal and equitable Access to Care, aiming to combine clinical insights and context with the opportunities offered by medical technologies and digital healthcare. He was responsible for major strategic partnerships, e.g. with Karolinska University Hospital Stockholm and with Charite in Berlin. Together with partners Hans is passionate about identifying major needs in the health domain, and to address these by developing meaningful solutions underpinned by proven outcomes in a relevant setting.
